Time Away

This is my first post of the new year! whoopie! And it’s January 23rd, my apologies for not posting sooner.

I haven’t been getting on the computer like I once have. I think I’ve lost some inspiration with my digital work so I haven’t been able to draw much of anything. It was time for a change of scenery! I had to get out of this cold, dark basement and instead I went up to my dad’s office – which is warmer and brighter.

I watched some videos on youtube of batman drawings…or rather just one video lol But I’ve found inspiration in that one video – not to drawing on photoshop like that person was doing  but with a different medium of art. OIL PASTELS!

I’ve done two other oil pastel drawings and I’d consider them successful. But what about that video I watched on youtube was the dramatic lighting. Basically its was completely dark with only the highlighted parts of batman’s suit come out. (There is this video of a guy drawing Voldemort with the same lighting – with voldy coming out of the darkness it’s very cool, I don’t remember who did it though, sorry)

Anyway, I found an awesome picture of the Joker and here is the finished piece!

I think I still need to do more traditional drawing before making my way back to digital, but its a good start getting back into the drawing rythem. So if any of you are having a hard time finding inspiration, I suggest taking a break to get away and to do something else for a while.
